Pbase blocked

Post Sun Jul 08, 2018 8:52 pm

I’ve been on pbase a long time but I’m starting to think it’s time to go. Pbase is blocked by so many networks, I assume because of the nudes, and most of my friends and family won’t even visit my links anymore. It’s realky too bad, I have so many galleries and history I hate to stop but seems like a waste of time if no one visits. I’ll probably keep my old photos for myself, I like the organization, but it’s pretty bad I can’t even link my pics on Facebook or Instagram.

Hmm -- I often put links to my PBase galleries on Facebook, one just within the past week in fact. I can't recall ever trying to directly display a single image on FB; but have often done that on some other forums.

Are you just using a clickable link, or are you trying to install the PBase photo as an image on the other sites? Have you perchance disabled "direct linking"?

Another recent problem I saw was a guy complaining about a direct link not working who appeared to be coming up with some temporary PBase server as part of his URL instead of the "official" "http: //www.pbase.com/{user-name}/image/416xyz95/{small|medium,|large}.jpg" The official format is presumably guaranteed to be properly mapped by PBase, whereas the temporary stuff could be different on different days/times/accesses.

Some thoughts,
DaveT

I have to go through the I’m not a robot thing a gazillion times to post a link on FB. It eventually works. Bigger issue is a lot of folks can’t click on the links because pbase is blocked on their network. Other issue is they look at my pics then accidentally click on the main pbase page and get greeted with soft porn. They never go back. If I could block the pbase. Sin page that would help.

I can’t access my own pbase account on my own home wifi.
Is there a workaround?

The sort of blocking that was being talked about here is when a company black-lists a site from their employees. Some companies go completely over the top about it.

Obviously you won't be blocking the site yourself. It's more than likely just an issue with your browser cache needing to be cleared but since you haven't stated which browser you're using there's no point going into how to do that (just do a web search for "YourBrowserName Clear Cache", or you could also try accessing PBase through a different browser if you have more than one installed.
