i enjoyed the many beautiful entries... it was hard to pick a winner.

each one of ken's entries is exceptional. I chose this one because of the personal danger story attached to it. and those volcanic columns contrasted by the liquid ocean water make for a great composition

2nd place:

I love the zebra stripe macro theme of this grand canyon shot, which requires B&W to work. well done.

Winner:

I have seen many photos of this geological marvel in Utah. this is a classic, but still fascinating.
