Cutting down a tree with a herring is starting to sound easier than getting uploads to work =P.

I went to dslreports and the like packet loss test checked out ok but the tweak test wouldn't work.

I tried to set up pBaseUpload but I couldn't figure out how to get it to start. I installed Perl but I'm not sure what to do next. I downloaded the pbaseupload file, renamed it with a .pl extension, and put it into the directory specified by XP's path/environment variable. There are several executable files in the Perl directory but the only one that seems to bring up a working command line is PPM (Perl Package Manager).

How do you start pBaseUpload? Is it done with the package manager or something else?

Thanks,

Martin

Doesnt just typing perl give you anything?

Assuming you have installed perl in c:/perl, try running
Code: Select all
c:/perl/bin/perl

If that works, to run PBaseupload try
Code: Select all
c:/perl/bin/perl pbaseupload.pl <full path of file to upload>

Here's what I get after running "c:\perl\bin\perl pbaseupload.pl filename.jpg"

"Can't locate WWW/Mechanize.pm in @INC (@INC contains: C:/Perl/lib C:/Perl/site/lib .) at pbaseupload.pl line 10. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at pbaseupload.pl line 10."

I loaded ActivePerl which was compiled for Windows, should I have loaded a different version? I don't know how to compile something from source code so I opted for the executable version.

Edit: running c:\perl\bin\perl makes the perl executable start but nothing else happens. Is that normal?

Thanks,

Martin

I'm having the same problem with PBaseUpload

Has there been any progress on the PBaseUpload - I get the same message you get.

On my old system I thought I remember having a "right-click send to Pbase" option directly from a jpeg. However, there was some issue about it not working if you had gallery urls with underscores "_" in them.

Sorry for the pretty late reply. Yuur ActivePerl installation does not seem to have WWW::Mechnize module installed. Use PPM to install the module and you should be done:

"right-click send to" - That used to be when I was able to bundle the codes as a standalone installation for Windows and use NSIS installation program to do all fancy things like the right click. However, PBase went and changed all the URL structures and hence I had to recode the program and because of some limitation with the perl2exe program I am using, I am no longer able to package PBaseUpload as a standalone program.

Hence you will have install Perl and then download the PBaseUpload code. You will also have to install modules like WWW::Mechanize using the ActivePerl PPM, as I mentioned in the pervious post.

Hope that helps!
