I guess this is kind of the point I was trying to get across. Who finds the following gallery artistic and who finds it more in the catagory of non artistic porn? Personally, {and no one has to agree), I don't see anything artistic about it what so ever.

Nothing personal loopy, but while I believe there is a place somewhere on the Internet for such images, PBase is not the site.

A man in my neighborhood just got arrested for ejaculating in front of a 12 year girl, so why should a site without a disclaimer be any different?

I don't think there's any question which category this falls into. I would not be surprised if this individual has some sort of criminal record.

This is the type gallery I am talking about. There are those that are trying to get us to believe that they are just expressing themselves artistically.

Given enough time, this could very well be some of the images that represent PBase on its home page, unless there is some sort of line drawn, or a special "section" so to speak that PBasers with these type galleries can post their images without young children seeing them the minute they type in pbase dot com.

Not a problem loopy. I also hope you understand why some of us take such a stand. We have family members and sometimes clients that view PBase. A gallery such as yours could potentually become an embarrassing situation.

Gross. I sent a complaint to Admin regarding a similar gallery a couple of months ago. Not suprisingly I haven't had a response, and the gallery is still there..

I'm not a prude, but having broadcast the wonders of pbase to friends, family, colleagues, if this type of material continues to appear I will be very rapidly leaving pbase. Nudity is one thing - this is not!

Have you been to a porn site (which this image obviously is)? I'm not sure what the regulations are, but each and every one of them that displays images like this have disclaimers first of all. And secondly have potential viewers and members use a credit card to prove they are an adult.

If this is the type of site Slug and Emily want to run so be it. But please inform PBase members one way or another so different arrangements can be made for those that don't want their images mixed with such photos.

I have gotten a lot of emails from members expressing the same concerns. Artistic nudity is one thing... Sex acts are all together another. Where does it end? Or does it?

This is the only reference to pornography within the terms of service on the site.
"Do not upload pornography. It is copyrighted. Collect it on your own hard drive."

The implication to me here is that you cannot upload it as you don't own it, however if you are the creator of it???

It is clear that new guidelines need to be set, this would eliminate 'x' percentage of users from the site and leave a question of taste for the remaining images. The rule would therefore be clear, if it's porn you've broken your terms of service and your account will be closed. All that you need to do now is classify it!

OTHER THOUGHTS:

Disable people from searching for porn on the site (simple to set up).

Ask people to categorise the content of their folders so two levels of user navigation could be used, similar to the filtered results on search engines. Some users already use the term 'may contain nude images' (I am not implying that all these folders contain porn), I'm sure this helps to drive traffic and deter it.

Does pbase have a view on this issue? Where does it want the site to be in 'x' years time. We don't have banners and adverts so can only assume that the site is paid for by its user base, are there that many people posting porn on pbase that they can't be thrown off?

Don't forget that we are ALL also paying for non-user bandwidth. How many people are searching for and viewing this type of image on pbase (pbase answer?).
