Ok folks,
Please download PBgrab 1.0.9 from http://srijith.net/pub/pbgrab_latest.zip
For all those using older versions, please upgrade

New features:
a) It now has a GUI (see NOTE at the end of this post)
b) It now has an option to download images and create thumbnails
for easy browsing !
c) It now has an option to apply a CSS stylesheet to downloaded images

Hopefully Simple to Follow Steps

1) Download pbgrab from http://srijith.net/pub/pbgrab_latest.zip

2) Extract files to your favourite folder (example c:\pbgrab)

3) Double click on pbgrabgui.exe. You will see:
Image

4) Just enter your user name / password and click Start

5) You will see a new box
Image

6) When your galleries are downloaded, the white box will show ***OPERATION COMPLETE *** - click ok.

Thats it !!!

Now simply browse to the folder where the images have been downloaded (if you did not specifically select a folder, it will be the same folder where you installed pbgrab) - double click on the index_xxxxxx HTML file

NOTE It is reccomended that while running the GUI, you just leave your PC and do not start doing other work while the GUI downloads stuff in the background (otherwise you might see that the GUI will pause working till you switch back to it)
Also, sometimes, your GUI might turn white. Dont worry, its still working. It will turn back to normal soon.

If you cannot live with these limitations, I strongly suggest you continue using nupbase's gui at http://srijith.net/pub/pbgrabgui_latest.zip

If you are already using Nupbase's gui, simple overwrite the supplied pbgrabgui.exe with his version - thats all.

don't get me wrong, i appreciate what you are doing, but somehow you missed to read the license agreement at indigostar:

Under no circumstances are you licensed to distribute Exe files created by the shareware evaluation version of Perl2Exe.

Arjun,
How much for the license for the perl thing?

Why not accept contributions from some of us toward that?

Let us know.

Eric,
Thanks a lot. I take licensing issues very seriously. I did review their
master licensing:

I meet criteria 1, 4 (product is not commercial), 5
conditions 2,3 are not applicable (Hence compliant)

However, it does look like I missed the perl2exe licensing request - you are correct - I am not supposed to distribute shareware EXEs.
I will ask srijith to temporarily remove this link till I get a 'licensed' copy.

Hi Andrys, not a bad idea, now that I don't have an option. It costs $49.
If anyone wants to donate, my paypal ID is arjunrc@yahoo.com !

What have I done wrong?

Just got around to using this gui version and I immediately get "Operation Complete" without any downloading of files.

Isabel (Cutler?)

I think Arjun will need to know what you checked off as options,
to analyze this.

To all,
I think the many people who downloaded this when things were
very bad for awhile are mostly gone now so they won't see my
suggestion for contributions toward the perl license. Also, the
cyberworld tends to want everything for free. Well, I do too, but
this utility is one of the most useful I've tried and I'm happy if a
a few of us who were provided peace of mind by the utility can
get Arjun toward the Perl thing.

Just the normal things...nothing special. Wouldn't work with a specified directory...in trying to choose directories I'd more often than not get a "That directory does not exist"...and when I tried specifying no directory that didn't work either.

Went back to the DOS version and that worked fine.

Hi Folks,
Thanks for your contributions towards the license. I have emailed srijith with the new versions of pbgrab and pbstats using the licensed version of perl2exe. You should be able to download the corrected version as soon as srijith puts it up.

Do note that these versions do not have new features - just a licensed copy of a software (instead of a trial version I was using before)

Yes, it should always download the original, failing which, as a last try,it downloads the large size. Try enabling debug messages to see what its doing for each image .

Let me know what parameters you are enabling for pbgrab.
