Challenge Next Week - Take A Portrait Of A Stranger

Post Wed Jun 29, 2005 11:53 pm

This is an exercise for those of you that haven't tried to engage
a stranger to succumb to your portraiture efforts.

Look for an interesting person when you're out in the market, strolling through town, visiting friends, attending an event, etc.
This should hopefully be someone you've never met before.

You can always tell them it's for a "project" you're working on or that you're putting together a portfolio. You'll be surprised at how easy it can be and maybe you'll even make someone 'smile'.

Who's in for this one?

NOTE: I'm disqualifying myself from this one because I do it all the time.

PS:...I'll post some anyway.

Here's a good one:

"It's for an assignment for a photo group I'm in."

- the microchip will be implanted on Tuesday]

Just foolin', you three are the bravehearted
photographic musketeers.

Go forth and capture some fantastic faces!

Anymore bravehearted souls out there.......?

I'm in. I do voyeur candids all the time; maybe it will be the asking that's the challenge.

Question.. are we going from July 3rd or 4th as the starting date?

I'll try to do a couple. I have to be in the right mood to talk to people though, not something I can muster up every day. I'm with Donna, voyeur or SURPRISE shots for me.

I've found that if you offer young children candy, they tend to run away crying.

Startup is July 4th.

Makes it easy for you to find victims, 'er I mean subjects!

James, Peter, Donna and Jeremy...
you're the proud owners of tags numbered
0004, 0005, 0006 & 0007!
[I gave myself tag #0000]

If you're captured, arrested for harrassment or thrown in a padded cell,
the secretary will disavow all knowledge of your identities. [that's from Mission Impossible]

Go get 'em photogs!

Uh, read the first thread again Jude. Seems clear to me.

Don't you ever talk to strange children?
Gas station attendants?
Someone in line at the prison grocery?
Guys in trenchcoats?
Inmates at the asylum?
Men digging holes in the street or climbing telephone poles?
Government officials?
Doped up hipsters?
Meter maids?
Carnival barkers?
WC attendants?
Mimes?

Then again...there's always the neighbors down the street!

Mr. Green says:
"Do it until it hurts".

PS: Okay, you're now number 0008 and 5/8's
