Displaying my pbase gallery images on another Web Site?

Post Mon Jan 12, 2004 7:08 pm

I have some photographs on one of my galleries that I wish to display as photos (not links) on a different web site.

If this is possible, how do I specifically accomplish this?

Minoltaman!

I am assuming that you mean this:

Direct linking to an image for use on another website, forums, or message board.

Due to bandwidth costs, you can only use this feature if you have paid.

This works just like linking to an image page but append .jpg to the end of the URL.

example: http://www.pbase.com/image/23.jpg

example: http://www.pbase.com/image/23/medium.jpg

Please let me know if this is correct; Using either of the avobe formats will result in the full image showing up on a different web site?

Thanks,

Yup, usually you add this after to embed to a forum.

You've got me all confused with the img before and /img after?

I don't seen anything like this in the HELP section.

Can you give me a sample stream, using the URL in my previous post?

Thanks,

you don't have a good url there, get one from the address bar when the image is open

all in a row, no spaces in between

that extra stuff is forum specific, you find it in the forums info

don't you see the little tags when you go to make a post?

OK.... bear with me here......

1. For inserting an image within the forum I use the [img]url[img/] format.

2. For inserting an image from PBase on another web site, I just type in the URL with a .jpg added after it?

3. The [img] & [img/] are PBase forum specific.

4. Also.... bear with me again.... What little tags?

BLEH!

Confused in Massachusetts....

nope, usually all forums require you to use tags manually. look at the top of the box you are you writing your replies too, you willsee what I mean.

those are tags, just little pieces of html

and you forgot the .jpg after the url, you almost always need that for embedding pis

The cleanest way to go about doing this is :

1. Go to your gallery that contains the image
2. Click on the image that you want to embed.
3. In the page that shows the image, copy the URL. The URL will look like:
http://www.pbase.com/image/XXXXXXXX
The 'XXXXXX' is a number
4. To this URL add '/original.jpg' or 'large.jpg' or 'medium.jpg' or 'small.jpg' depending upon which size you want.
5. This whole thing is the URL.

An example URL:
http://www.pbase.com/image/24755707/original.jpg

Now you can use this URL either in pbase forum in which case you have to use the format or in any other web page in which case you have to use the HTML < img src="url" width="xyz" height="abc" /> Note there is no space between 'img' and '<'. I had to insert it to render as text (and not as html) in the message.

OK, Got it! (I think). I am a Newbie at this!

To imbed a PBase image into another independent Web Page, then I need to do what Srijith is suggesting?
