I hear ya with the need for a tropical theme. I woke up to -11 F this morning with a brisk wind to go along with it. I'm still shivering!!

Funny, I never thought of Big Sur as tropical. Amazing what a palm tree can do for you.

But here's one from Joshua Tree which is, well semi-tropical,

Yeah, it was a bit of a stretch (my Big Sur post), but it was the closest thing I've got until I visit someplace truly tropical!
