B&W January Challenge: JANUARY 3 Image & question

Post Tue Jan 02, 2007 11:41 pm

So here is the forum page for day three.

A couple have mentioned it would be better just to keep one forum discussion link for the whole month. I can see how that might be easier to find but it could end up being 60-80 pages long.

QUESTION:
What is your opinion with your B&W for today? I'm not picky.

It would be much easier to have one Forum Discussion/Posting Topic. If the length gets too long we could start another then.

I'm all for doing it the easiest way. On a daily basis.

I like the way it is...it is easier to get through as the next post is always at the end.

Either way will do for me, but I think daily post is better.

Here is mine for Jan 3rd

I'll just throw this out for whatever it's worth...

With time differences across continents, this multiple thread format is getting too confusing. I see people are still posting for today (Jan 2) while
tomorrow's thread is being posted.

With the weekly Thursday Challenge coming up too, there will probably be more confusion generated.

Not sure what the solution is but maybe an every-other-day b&w posting might be a better idea and give everyone an extra 24 hours to come up with their images.
Only 15 images a month instead of 30 but I'd enjoy quality over quantity anyday.

My two cents...for what it's worth.

If we keep posting one thread per day, the rest of the threads will be pushed to the next page. I understand it is easier for those who want to keep on top of what is being posted daily. But I do understand the point for one thread for the month too.

If Pbase used something other than phpBB than we could solve this with a sub forum. But the only other solution would be to open a forum just for the months day to day challenge.

I'm new and have not see this process done for any month previously. Opening a new forum for just this one month isn't very efficient.

So why am I babbling? I guess to say I can't see an easy way to handle this new posting idea so whatever works for everyone else..I can deal with it.

What about a weekly thread for the month? I think whatever you decide and make it clear to all of us....we should be able to figure it out....we are all smart here, right?

I think the daily basis would be much clearer.

I don't mind very much, but I think the daily basis is more convenient.
Today I made a view shots for the Thursday Challenge (Shadow Play) and couldn't decide which one to use. But as some of them are in (almost) B&W I decided to use one for the January Challenge.
This is it.

I think one thread would be too confusing..... wish I had a simpler solution...
