help wanted with scanner

Post Sun May 08, 2005 1:19 pm

hello all, this is my 1st post.
I have an Epson 1250U scanner with an adapter for film and slides.
What is the best resolution for scanning 35mm slides? They all seem to come out jagged and out of focus. I'm ok with prints and have limited abilities with PS. regards Fanjetuk :)

You need at least 3000dpi for a slide, from memory

Can you post a URL or an example?

yes vuescan is good, i bought a perpetual license.
on the quality of resolution: use the native resolution of the scanner for best results, the higher the better of course. This way the scanner's software isn't trying to do a poor quick job of re-scaling your photos. Later on you can resize them and re-sharpen them in professional photo editing software like from adobe or corel.
