Hi there

I am totally new to slide scanning and have bought a used Coolscan 4000 ED.

When I scan in my Kodachrome color slides (and the scan is set for Kodachrome - all my slides show up with a green tint.

Any guesses? Please please help! Will be much appreciated.

I have the 5000 and felt the Nikon software was awful for slides. Look up the VueScan program. It's current and works with hundreds of scanners.

You can correct the green cast in photoshop. I had the same problem on a few of my Kodachrome slides but the majority were fine.

If anyone is thinking of going to an intel Mac & want to use their Nikon film scanner. You will also have to buy the VueScan software to run it. Nikon have no updated drivers for the latest Macs & OS.

I've been using my Coolscan 4000 on a Mac G4 OS9 and now have a Mac Intel Duo. My original CD won't open on the new Mac and I can't update unless I have a version installed. What does a body do?

You can go to VersionTracker.com and download VueScan for free. I just did it.
