Intermittent Coolscan V ED Problem

About every ten slide scans, at the stage of "acquiring the final image" I get an error where the machine hangs and the immage has several, often equally spaced, vertical lines. I have to turn off the scanner and after restarting it will be OK- until the next time it repeats, usually about 10 slides later.
Anyone else experience this- have a solution?

Hi,
I have a coolscan 5000ed and i had problems with the images locking up
every 10-15 scans, i found the problem was related to the
amount of ram and processor capacity of my computer.
I upgraded to 2gb ram and quad core and have had no more problems!

I agree with Bob.
This is a 54 Mb scan and is very Ram hungry.

After each scan do you save and close the file? I found that if I closed the completed scans then the problem didn't arise.
Like Bob I found the problem went away after I upgraded my computer.
