Help with a Voigtlander Vitomatic 2a

Post Fri Mar 11, 2005 9:24 pm

I've bought a Voigtlander Vitomatic IIa in an auction but the problem is that I can't understand some of the commands in the camera. So, I would like someone to help me with a few issues:
Is the meter something with a pointer on the right side of the camera close to the trigger? If yes, how do I know I'm exposing the film correctly?
What means a green V, a red X and a yellow M on the left side of the lens?
What does it mean a command on the upper left side of the camera with a lamp and a sun sign? I suppose it is to select tungsten film or daylight but how do I know which one I've selected?
Finally, does the camera work with batteries? If yes, where do I place them, because I can't see any compartment.
Thank you very much for any help.

Nifty camera hope you have fun with it...

Now for the "Google is my friend" part of this ...

http://www.kyphoto.com/classics/instructionmanuals.html

The entire manual for the II is available (the IIa goes to 1/500 sec where the II only goes to 1/300 second).
