Got Photos Wet...HELP!

Post Wed Nov 16, 2005 12:19 am

I accidentally got a pile of my photos wet - and now they are all stuck together like glue - and hard as a rock. I can't get them apart at all.

Does anyone have any tricks to getting photos "unstuck" after they've gotten wet?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If your photos are proper commercial photographic prints (rather than computer prints) you could risk putting them into a sink of cold water and this should separate them. Let them soak, don't force them apart too stongly.

A word of warning though, if they are old black & white prints, drying them flat will be a problem. However most modern B&W and colour papers are resin coated and will dry flat if laid out separately on sheets of newspaper. Never try this with computer prints as ink-jet inks are not usually waterproof.

If this doesn't work, you could get them reprinted if you still have the negs. Good luck!!!
