did a bad move by replacing batteries without turning camera off. Lit up allthe screens and went dead. Anybody know how extensive is the damaga I hve done and is it v iable to fix HELP!

Don't bother fixing it. Use it as an excuse to upgrade to a Maxxum 7. The best SLR they made! Otherwise it would probably be cheaper to pick up a used Maxxum 7000 vs the repair. All your lenses that fit the Maxxum 7000 will work on a Maxxum 7 except for a few older Sigma lenses.

replace the batteries and try again, I have lost 2) 2cr5's for various reasons, I put the original AAA battery compartment on and it works again. I get a new battery.
