I recently purchased this light metre from my local photo shop, but there was no manual for it (second hand). I can't find any info on the net, its pretty self explanatory really except the "EV" reading at the bottom, what is this for??, it moves in conjunction with the outer ring when setting the AV and TV. By the way what looks like a Crack by the EV button, is in fact a Human Hair now removed. See Pic. http://www.pbase.com/image/25021321.jpg

it explains it in detail. It is as far as I understand a basic measurement of light and it enables you to choose any combination of F stop and shutter speed that gives the correct exposure

Experimenting over the last two days, the metre tends toward a faster shutter speed (30 Canon, 60 Metre) for a given exposure than my Canon A1. On my Olympus OM 10 it is about the same. Who or what is correct. I still can't figure out the EV thing. I intend to do some trials over the next few shots (one camera setting, one metre setting for the same subject and lighting conditions) and see which gives better results.
