Leica IIIF-Rewind Knob/Shutter Button Stuck

Post Thu Oct 12, 2006 9:17 pm

I have a leica iiif that is in flawless cosmetic condition, but the shutter button won't go down, the rewind knob will not move, and the little lever that moves from "a" to "f" won't go to "f".

Does anyone know what is wrong and what could fix this? Thank you in advance.

Try unloading the film (in the dark, of course), then check the inside of the camera. In particular, check for obstructions of the shutter release spring (as shown by the arrow) in this photo.

WAU-

I tried what you showed me and described and it wasn't it. Thank you so much though!

Sorry to be so late with an answer. If you mean the little lever "wont go from A to R" and not A to F, then I think the film has been loaded wrong, and you have either the film jammed or you have small bits of broken film jammed in the rewind mech. Unload all the film and check for the above Carefully.
