Metal 120 film spool.

Post Fri Apr 10, 2009 7:06 pm

I recently bought a Rollicord V (1954-1957 according to the serial number) and when I came to put in a fresh film, there was an old metal spool from the last roll of film (I assume!) anyway it occured to me that metal spools have`nt been around for a while and after `gooogleing` "120 metal spool" apparently they stopped making them around the mid to late 70`s, so maybe that was the last time any pictures were took with this camera, anyone care to shed a bit more light on the subject?

I have no idea if you can stil find metal spools, but you don't need one to use your camera. 120 film is available and will fit.
Here's the wikipedia entry on 120 film

Thanks for that jypsee, it`s the date that metal spools were replaced I`m really interested in, I`ve actually shot two 120 films now! and they are at the processors.
