I have a question for the forum. As someone who is just starting out and doesn't have much petty cash to spend on some of the more advanced equipment that I'd like to use, I'm interested in learning how people get their hands on pricey cameras and lenses for one-off projects. Rent/borrow?

Most people buy it on eBay, and resell it on eBay once they're done.

I agree. I bought all my film cameras on ebay and they all work perfectly.
make sure youdon;t buy something too cheap and nasty, because you want something decent to take pictures with. Olympus and Nikon MF SLR are usually rock-solid. Same for their lenses.

It's hard to go wrong with used gear from Adorama or B&H out of New York. Older Nikon Film gear is still first class. Most will use any Nikon lens except the latest G series.
