Kodak's Xtol times for TMax 400 @1600 are goofy
Posted: Sun May 24, 2009 2:40 amJust wanted to make this known. For some odd reason, Kodak shows the development time for Tmax 400 pushed to ASA 1600 to be 8.5 minutes at 68 degrees F in Xtol stock. I developed several rolls with this time, ending up with very light negatives, so I asked around. The correct time for that speed and temperature is 11.5 minutes.
I have no idea why this bad information is present on Kodak's website (see http://www.kodak.com/global/en/professi ... /f4043.pdf) , but the film is outstanding at ASA 1600:
Processed in Xtol stock, 68 degrees F, 11.5 minutes.
