Does anyone know a good source where I could find maps for these deserts? Having a little trouble tracking down a good map.....of any of them. The ones I have managed to find just have the land labeled as "desert," which I already know....

Thanks!

In Chile I know that you can get maps (with different scales) covering the whole of the country from the "geographical military institute":

http://www.igm.cl

This is the only source of "good" topological maps of remote areas in Chile that I know of. They should cover the Chilean part of the Atacama desert (and maybe parts of the Bolivian...).

In Argentina

Hi!

wich part of Pagatonia's map do you need?
In Argentina you can visit the http://www.igm.gov.ar/
the militar geographic institute, the organization that makes the official maps here.
you can also visit http://www.tierradelfuego.org.ar/zagieryurruty/
they have different maps from Pagatonia, quite good although I recommend you to check the paths in the place before you start traveling.
