I am planning a vacation in Italy at the end of this month, and I am looking for suggestions. Anyone here can recommend a region / area / site in Italy that could be appropriate for fall scenery photography ? (foliage etc.)
Thanks.

I would highly recommend South Tyrol and the Dolomites, in particular the Provinces of Bolzano, Trento and Belluno. Spectacular alpine scenery, fairly accessible with not too many tourists this time of year. If you want specific destinations for these areas send me a PM.

It wasn't me that suggested this, OK?, but you might try an Advanced Search at flickr for where people have photographed the sort of landscapes you want in previous years - something you can't currently do it on PBase: http://www.flickr.com/search/advanced/

Devise your own search terms but perhaps something like this would be a good start: pictures shot between 28 Sept and 10 Oct last year, tagged with Italy and Autumn, excluding any tagged with HDR (I find many of those show a false 'shot' date that's actually their processing date) and sorted with the ones judged to be most interesting first: http://www.flickr.com/search/?s=int&d=taken-20070928-20071010&q=italy+autumn+-hdr&m=text

Hope that helps but remember, Mum's the word!
