It is slow for me also, and for my husband who is on another computer in the same room! We sometimes give up trying to comment, and return later on. :(
I found that very late at night, (when Europeans are sleeping) it does seem faster.

My solution so far has been to reduce every photo before uploading. So after I'm finished with a shot I make a smaller version about 900 wide for a horizontal shot. It loads much faster. I never load a full size image. Also, if the original size isn't deleted by Pbase, even with that as my setting, as least it's small enough for people to see and it loads more quickly for them! :)
Hope that helps!

Greetings! Here's my image for March 5:

http://www.pbase.com/image/109875253

Strangely I'm not having problems. The commenting does take a minute or so sometimes. I have my Safari browser set so that each time I click on an URL a new window opens. While I wait for that comment to post I move on to the next image and just close the open windows. A bit of a hassle, but it works. Uploading of images takes about 15-20 seconds here.

Enjoy the day everyone.

digitalgee wrote:I'd like to thank everyone for all the comments on my images. I will keep trying to reciprocate, but it's difficult. PBase is now slowed down so much (at least for me) that it's darn near impossible to enjoy the experience.

For example, I spent thirty minutes trying to upload an image last evening, with no success. THIRTY minutes. This morning, I've been trying for about twenty minutes to upload the same image. It goes nowhere. I've posted some comments about all this on another forum within PBase, but my experience with that has been that nothing will come of it.

Six months to go on my account. I stick around because of the wonderful community of photography friends, but it's gotten to the point where it's almost futile to try to do anything here. And you wait and see -- although they don't respond to complaints, and rarely fix anything, someone WILL move this post. I'd bet on it.

Anyway, I came here to explain why I haven't posted, and why it's hard for me to comment on others as well. Can't figure out how come I can get to a forum, but can't upload and/or comment. Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it! :x

I think it is everybody's story... I have had trouble in almost every Pbase function (except the forum) for most of the day. I have been able to edit a few photos and move them around but that is about all. Even that is hit or miss

I experience that sometimes too and give up. Very frustrating....maybe we're overloading the entire network.??!
