15th July

This shot was taken almost a year ago, today was the first time I got round to processing it. It is taken at the base camp below Broad Peak on the Godwin-Austen glacier in the Karakoram mountains of NW Pakistan. Camping appeals to a lot of people but you have to be pretty hard-core to take it to these extremes. My wife and I lived in a ridge tent for 3 weeks on this trek, much of it on the Baltoro glacier, and at night you really feel the cold biting through your thermarest mat and sleeping bag! Worth the experience of being in this place though.
