Re: Four Colour February and Daily Comments and Posting

Post Fri Feb 06, 2009 7:21 pm

Following Scott's comments I would venture the following points:
1.I too have noticed the complete disregard that some participants have of others' work. That is their own affair: I will continue to view their images, comment as I see fit, and expect no form of reciprocation.
2.I appreciate very much the comments I receive on my images: ranging from critical to constructive to humorous. These have encouraged me, made me smile wryly, nudged me to improve my skills, and made me feel part of this pbase community.
3.As regards daily posting of freshly taken images: I decided long ago not to be a slave to this. I will do it when I can, and it means I will always have my camera with me.This has allowed me to "happen upon" shots I would never have got otherwise. But the monthly challenge can provide one with a bit more leeway here. It was because of this that I suggested last November that people might like to use "Cinderella shots" from their archives as long as they committed to an effort to process them more meticulously.People reacted very favourably to this approach, and in addition some people kept a more regular daily PAD going.
For my own part, I like to think that the pbasers who engage with one another in this forum show a sensitivity in their approach to the work they post and comment upon.

For today

http://www.pbase.com/image/108933258

Regarding the debate on commenting/posting fresh images, I do try to comment as much as I can
but admit to falling behind as I'm a working mother with other demands on my time. Plus the
heating isn't working properly in the room where my computer is, so sometimes I just retreat to
somewhere warmer :) I do appreciate everyone's comments and have found pbasers extremely
helpful and encouraging, and enjoy taking part in the challenges.
I try to post freshly taken images but it's not always easy, especially this time of year, so I
do dip into my stores from time to time.
Hope you all have a nice weekend.
