The America's Cup trials start this weekend in San Diego Bay. I got down there tonight just at almost sunset, and the boats were coming back from their afternoon practice. These are 45-foot catamarans, and the sails are clear wings. Amazing! In the way background is the carrier Carl Vincent, where the President landed this afternoon to watch the basketball game being held on board in celebration of Veterans Day.
