Whitch SIGMA lens,help

Hi,need help of choice Sigma brand lense,something between 70-300,on ebay is for sale old 100-300 4,5-6,7 UC sigma,can't catch any review, min focus is 2mtrs,reason,why the lens is cheap Or other reason?
Love close up and macro.Any recomendation for choice 180mm f3,5 macro prime lens or zoom between 70-300mm
What do you thinking about old lenses for M42 mount with digital cameras?Any good choice,there are so cheap on ebay.
