Copyright of Images

Post Tue Feb 20, 2007 5:47 pm

Hi, Sorry for posting this here, but was not sure where to post this question.

Do you happen to know any source that describes the regulations on image copyrights of images? If for example I have accreditation to shoot in a Tennis Match - Masters Series let's say, do I own the copyright of the images I shoot or the organisation that runs the tournament owns some of it?

If I own the copyright of an image, let's say Federer serving, can I sell this image to a magazine or newspaper? anyone knows any restrictions or regulations in detail? any 'light' would be much appreciated. Thanks

There are 200 countries in the world, and each has different copyright laws.

In addition, as you suspect, in some countries event organisers can and do place restrictions on what amateur photographers may do with any photographs they have taken at that event.
