You might also wish to consider the Pentax K20D with 14.6 MP or the less expensive K200D at 10.2 MP. Both very capable camera's with some very nice glass and in camera stabilization.

their cameras today are all worse than those they will introduce in coming future, so in a sense, none is good enough. One may be better than another in one time or another, and not to discount many other suppliers. Stay with what you have and make the most out of it will be the best. Most likely all the offers from all the top makers are quite similar, it is more or less that how you adapt yourself into each system than finding who is really the best. For high end capture, Canon and Nikon are far from the top, but sure they are good enough.
