I am new here and new to photography. I want to ask you a question, if you have time and try to answer it,i will be very glad to read it.

On the Lens of sony dsc h5, it is written "2,8-3,7/6-72"

does anyone knows what does it mean?

The camera is rated with an aperture of F2.8-F3.7 over a zoom range of 6mm-72mm, which is equivalent to 36-432mm equivalent (12x optical). The F value is a ratio relative to the focal length, so at 6mm the maximum opening of the aperture is F2.8 and at 72mm the maximum opening of the aperture is F3.7.
