Lighting for Photo Art Studio

Post Thu Jul 05, 2007 8:05 pm

Hi All,

I'm trying to setup an photo art studio to take pictures of my oil paintings which range from 60cm x 80cm small end to 100cm x 150cm high end.

I'm using a Nikon D70 camera, standard lens.

I'm looking to purchase a set of lights, but I am unsure of what exactly to get. For example, what wattage, softbox vs umbrella, etc.

I found something recently on the web. They look good, anyone care to advise me?

The Pro Line Continuous Studio Tri-Light includes a massive 40cm Reflector, with fully adjustable light fitting, and three 24W (125W Equivalent) 5000k perfect daylight bulbs giving an equivalent of 360W, and removable baffles for light diffusion. This light represents the epitome of continuous lighting helping you obtain the perfect shot.

This kit includes 2 x 40cm Reflectors, 6 x 24W (125W equivalent) Daylight Bulbs providing an equivalent 750W output, 2 fully adjustable light fittings, removable baffles and 2 Pro Line light stands, giving the flexibility of a dual light source.

Thanks,
-John
