Lunar Eclipse

Post Wed Feb 20, 2008 10:34 pm

I could use some advice on photographing tonights lunar eclipse. I have tried before but it always seems to come out wrong.

I have Canon XTi and the 18-55 lens and a 70-300mm lens. I know I have to use manual focus, but (in my case) the exposures always seem wrong.

Any help would be appreciated.

Spot metering is the best way to get the correct exposure. Or just experiment with manual exposure until you get the right setting. Remember not to use too slow shutter speed as the image won't be sharp. Moon is a moving object. Good luck!

Might help with exposure guidelines. I was hoping to shoot it as well but as of right now it's snowy and overcast.....
