D300 and lens

Few days ago, I got the new Nikon D300, and I like to know, if I can use the old Nikkor Reflex 500mm f.8 on this camera... Carlitin

The Nikon F mount has been around for almost 50 years, so the lens will mount. The question would be whether the original lens functionality will be maintained or whether it will become a manual lens.

This Nikon compatibility chart might help... It lists which series lenses will mount on which bodies and what functionality you may expect..... It may not address your lens specifically but probably will tell you if the general series is workable.
In General, any AI lens will work on any Nikon body. It's the with pre-AI stuff (pre 1980's) where one experiences trouble.
