original image name...

It has been mentioned here before that the original image name from the camera ei DSG_1234.jpg is preserved somehow in the naming process when an image goes up line to pbase. How does one find this original name? I tried a couple of the obvious ways and came up empty. It was simple as I recall, I just can't recall...

Try doing a right mouse click on the photo, and select properties. The original name, as loaded, is the suffix of the file name in properties.

hmmm Ok then iPhoto is renaming them as they are inported... must fix that, some how. Here's one of them: ...106554540.AicnZcKE.jpg. Not what I was expexting which is why I asked. I was pretty sure it was a right click thing.

I just checked and observed that not all PBase photos include what would be the original file name. Perhaps you're right, some programs change the file name prior to saving / uploading.

I'm guessing that iPhoto has it's own indexing system, hence the rename on import... annoying to say the least.
