Using hot-shoe flashes with studio softboxes?
Posted: Wed Apr 29, 2009 5:57 pmI am trying to create a portable studio on a budget and am considering using Canon speedlites in the place of more expensive strobe heads. Wondering if anyone can tell me what's the largest softbox they've successfully powered from a 580 ex or similarly powered flash. Any other issues I might consider before buying the gear to attempt this approach?
Also, wondering if there are any flash attachments that might replicate a bare-bulb effect?
