Computer won't read 64GB SD card

I'm just back from summer travel from coast to coast, and also eclipse viewing/photography. When I put my 64GB SD card into the computer, I get an error message saying that the card needs to be formatted. I clearly don't want to do that! The images show up clearly on the camera. Is this a known issue with the newer 64GB cards? How can I move the images to another card or a computer. (I tried using different computers, with the same result). Thanks, Fotoaficionado

Can you put the card in the camera and download via USB?

It probably has to do with the exFAT format used on the larger cards. I avoid the drama and stick to 32 GB and Fat32 formatting. I had an experience like you with my Nikon D5300. The camera would see the photos, but the computers were blind.

Put a 32 gb in your camera and format it. Hopefully, it should be FAT32 now.
Good luck, Ron
