hm.. tough one, they're interesting ideas

this:

i think it might have been nice to have the bike as less of a focal point.. in the picture, but maybe making it a smaller element. One thing i've learnt is that you can get so excited about an idea that all the photos end up being the object of interest dead center - try to think about it being a component of the composition, rather than the object of it.

what interest me in the above picture is the idea that you could make more of the background & increase the isolation of the bike - it's unusual colour is a jarring image & that's kind of cool.

for the mask shots - i would like to see shots taken in available light in darkened rooms, perhaps mostly monochromatic. Or old buildings, to kind of heighten a concept of war & abandonment (woah heavy ;) ).
Or you could maybe take the concept more the way you're going, with the mask in totally mundane situations - cooking... ironing.. that kind of thing - perhaps dress more to suggest an iminent threat (military clothing etc)

just some thoughts.. no need to take em seriously!

I like the Mask. The Bike is not bad, but I find the shots of the Mask more varied and unique. The Bike shots then to look similar, but I understand that the mask is more portable than the bike...so it's easier to be more creative with the mask.

The pictures themselves are creative and techically good, but I don't particularly like any of them. I think part of it is that I don't find either object aesthetically pleasing, and the images aren't striking enough to get me to ignore that. Don't get me wrong, photographically speaking they're good, I just don't particularly like the images.

Each picture in each series of pictures is good. But when you present a series of pictures, artistically, I feel there has to be a reason for the series other than a common subject. Why the series of pictures? What is the role of each picture in relation to the series? I dont think that your collection of pictures of either object makes a sufficient artistic statement, as a series. If it is meant to it isnt obvious and perhaps a brief 'statement of intent' should be added which becomes a part of the artwork. I dont think I have explained myself very well but do you see what I mean?
