History of Fashion Photography

Hi guys, I am seeking a book about fashion photography and I am looking for some recommendations. I will be starting a degree in Fashion imaging and I would like to do some background research before next year.

I have been to several bookshops, fashion books contained things such as an image, followed by the designers name and text about their clothing. It doesn't specify much else about it, no prominent fashion photographers or what each dacade was like. I live in the UK and it's rare to find a college that teaches fashion at the current level, but I don't want to go to University with no knowledge of fashion photography at all.

Any help would be deeply appreciated!

Try the library, you may get lucky! They tend to have a better, older and more eclectic selection of photography related topics than most book stores.

I seem to remember a book years ago by the Playboy photographers that was very insightful. I am sorry that I don't know the name but they gave several secrets. I know you were thinking a different kind of fashion but then we would be talking semantics. There is scene set by an artist, some clothes and lots of light.
