Favorite Pbase Photographers

I'm sure I'm not the only one who looks into the recently updated galleries fairly often, and find there's a large number of people who post multiple times daily to stay toward the top. It's not too bad occasionally, but it seems it's the same galleries day after day. We've had older threads asking for links, but I'd like to see if there's others we've missed. There's also several who have stopped posting, but their galleries are still around. As example, here's one I felt people would enjoy:

I wish it were photos like this on the front page of the popular photos, or indeed the site's home page. Of course in the great scheme of things it doesn't really matter too much.

I have compiled a list of my own favorites and have a page on my site that lets others know. I recently started a Featured Site. This is someone starting out with a trial site or newly formed regular site and could use support and encouragement. I hope all will take the time to check out this artists work.

Some, like Oliver Dienst, Christophe Quirion, or Piotr Czechowski, among few other Pbasers, still have their photo portfolios hosted here. I think it's very fortunate. As I understand, many other talents had already left.

Like this photographer, OK, not masterpieces, but imagine looking at similar photos in PaD gallery.

Nice work, familiar with them. Glad you added though, in case others haven't seen their work.

Personal interest is finding people who haven't had exposure in the Magazine, most pops, or forum. They can be new to Pbase, or long time supporters with few hits.

Special interest would be galleries which show technical ability with camera settings & use of lighting toward the artistic side, without photoshop manipulation.
Example of landscape would be, slow shutter speeds in grass scenes to show movement, since it's less common than when used with water.

Or, photoshop & other program use which simulates what can be done without it.
Examples: Soft focus, or Holga simulation without using the actual lenses.

Yes, Steve does very nice work. Jude does a lot of layering speckled through her galleries also: http://www.pbase.com/jude_53/art

Layering can simulate soft focus, and holga.. but I think the layers are usually used visible, and somewhat obvious. While good, it's still PS art, and not simulating actual camera work in most cases though there's always the exceptions. My favorite is still done "in camera", partly because of shooting film for so long. But my PS work stinks, and I can't seem to motivate myself to try more with it. I'm also burnt out with shooting in this area, and it affects my effort these days. Not sure what it's going to take to pull out of it, so hope to find something . Travel isn't an option, unfortunately.
