Please comment on which crop and pp (or any aspects of the images presented) works best for you... not presenting this as an image of real artistic value - just want to hear some views and learn from your comments...

Difficult to say. Ideally I'd need to see these images sided by side. As far as I can see you only changed the crop on the sides. If I had to choose one, it would be the one on the bottom because you eliminated the chunk of shore on the right and zoomed in more on your subject . Maybe I'd crop a little more on the left so the crop goes through the tree. That would frame it a little better. Problematic though the bottom of the ship is cut off.

I like the bottom one the best. Mainly because the tree frames the left side of the photo better. Although I like the upper right corner of the top one. What about cropping by closing in closer to the tree on the left side and showing a little bit more of the shore by the bridge on the right side ?

I really like the photo, nice colors and interesting subject. The line of umbrellas leads your eye right along the river to the bridge, very pleasing composition.

After looking at the two images a little more, the top one looks best to me now, it has a more spacious flowing feeling, the 2nd one could seem a little cramped.

:D Really like the photo ! :D

#2. I like the balance, the color, and the way color fills the frame.

I like #2 as well.

But, I'd be tempted to do a version 3, one that keeps #2's crop on the left, but restores the bit of river edge in the upper right from #1. That keeps my eye from wandering out of the picture in that direction.

Nice shot.

Another version (As suggested by Mangoman)

I think this one works better for me for the reasons suggested by Mangoman - did mean I had to lose a bit off the top to stay with my (selfimposed :) 7x5 format for poste pics but it works...

Thank you Mangoman - also to amoxtli, maresphoto & mnl for commenting...

My own personal pref but the colou is a lot better on the top image, as for the crop I can't really choose between them. Maybe even a tighter crop getting rid of some of the top of the photo and showing more of the boat and the umberellas. A nice shot either way.
