Traditional Hawai'ian Portraits

Post Sun Jun 06, 2010 11:24 pm

Good evening PBasers!!
I saw a gallery a few weeks back and cannot find it again.... did a search of keywords I could think relevant.... went through the popular galleries.... but to no avail. The subject was traditional Hawai'ian portraits, like gal in hula skirt, headdress, etc etc. very much in the style of Manny Librodo if that helps narrow it further, very contrasting color, mostly sepia with the palm leaves in green....
If anyone knows where I can find some of these photos or the gallery, let me know please!!! And if you're the photographer, shoot me the link, I have a friend who wants me to shoot her in the same way.

Thanks!!!

GP Merfeld does some really outstanding Hawaiian portrait work. Not sure if he's the one you're talking about, but his galleries are a must-see on this topic.
