1440 or 2880. Does it really make a difference?

I am printing 15"-wide prints on an Epson 2200. My image files are generally between 17mb and 50mb. Does printing at 2880 dpi guarantee better results or am I just using more ink for nothing? :?: :?

Better results may or may not be guaranteed

If you are going through the trouble of color management and using printer profiles, it is best to keep with the settings used by the profile. IF the documentation for the profile says to use 2880, then keep with that setting. If you aren't using profiles, then you may be able to drop down to 1440. Try it on a small print and see if you can tell any difference. If you can't see any difference, then it's not worth the extra ink for you.
