Epson R220 color management help

Hi All,
I am using a Epson R220 but find colours are always too purplish and dark.
Has anybody a colour set up for this printer?
I normally use Kodak paper (Ultima) and follow their instructions (Magenta - 3) but the problem is not fixed anyway.
