New Batch Image Update Tool

Post Sun Nov 23, 2003 8:25 am

There is a nice new batch update tool on your gallery edit pages.
The new format allows you to update multiple fields for multiple images at one time.
Hope you like it!

That's great Emily. My one question is that does it override keywords of images already existing in your gallery?

Cheers

Yes, entering new values for the keywords would delete any keywords that are already on the selected images. If it would be useful, I will see about fixing it so you can add to the list of keywords for the selected images.

Hi All I have just joined Pbase and went to the News channel just to look and found your posts about Batch updating photos.

There is a windows tool called CaptionEdit that allows you to selectively batch infuse any IPTC field.

There is a trail version available at http://www.captionedit.com

Hopefully you can find it useful

New image batch software

Post Mon Jan 05, 2004 7:22 pm

Hi guys!

Check out this cool software I found on the net.
http://www.dualdot.net/default.asp?nav=imagebatch

It has a batch mode for converting, naming and resizing images.

It´s very nice. :D

But: it is broken, and we wait and wait and wait for the fix

Post Sat Jun 19, 2004 4:47 am

Unfortunately in the gallery page only the previosuly entered cameras and lenses appear in the list, and the film list contains a camera and is incomplete.

We have send several emails to support, and asked in the forum messages for a fix. Meanwhile months pass without a feedback or a fix.

Something is wrong, previously pbase support was soooo good. :( Now this is like dropping pebbles into water: a few waves and than nothing.

I hate to be a bore, but the batch update tool is still brok

Post Tue Mar 08, 2005 10:11 pm

I am aware of the recent integrity problems with transition to a new ISP,
but maybe you could also take a look at the batch update tool, which
for all these months (June 2004-->March 2005) has some unresolved
problems.

One problem which I observe is that while updating a Film for set of images,
which is not in the set of the predefined films, the system says "images
updated" (green message on the left top side of the edit gallery page,)
but the film will not be added to the images. We have to go through Edit
Image one by one. I did this recently of some 200-300 images, its the
bandwidth which you would like to safe by providing the batch update...

Could you please take a look at this problem? On this ocassion I would
like to suggest you again the excellent list of films by Bill Tuthill
http://creekin.net/films.htm, which might be used to complete the list of
existing films.

Thanks,
Thomas
