Improved Feature: Favorite Artists Page

We have made some upgrades to the <a href="http://www.pbase.com/favorites">favorite artists page</a> and usergroups.

The favorite artists page now displays the most recent images from the members of your usergroups.

Other people can also visit your favorite artists page to see your published usergroups.
Your unpublished usergroups are only accessible by you.
You can easily change whether a group is published or unpublished using the link at the top right of the list of members.

You can click on a member's name to view his/her favorite artists.
This should be a lot of fun as more people publish their usergroups and you can keep clicking from one favorites page to another.
I have populated <a href="http://www.pbase.com/favorites/emily">my favorite artists</a> with users who have already published their favorite artists. So, you can click on any of these members' names to see thier favorite artists pages.

Additional features:
- View the members' profile portraits by clicking the "view portrait photos" link at the top left of the list of members.
- Easily add a user to any of your usergroups from his/her profile page.
Edit mode:
- Remove artists from your own groups.
- Copy / Move artists from one group to another, even from someone else's usergroup to one of your own.

now we just need everyone to play along and make their favorites group public. then the graph will expand and be more interesting.

so everyone, try clicking that "publish this group" link on the favorites page.

Quite like the new page: but really miss the old 'recent' listing against each of my favourites (which I've just published). This was a great way of seeing all their updated galleries -- and not just one image... -- especially as it was my main way of using the page!

Any chance this could still be included?

well, I miss the old style of the list of Favorite Artists - I used to frequently check the list of my favorite photogerpahers, to see what are the recently updated galleries - I'd really like to have te previous list back. but browing lists of favorites of other people can be fun.

and WOW, my personal message is back! Just wanted to ask:

***What is the maximum lenght of the personal message? ***

I don't want it to crash again - it disappeared some time ago, when I added more text to it...

First let me say I love Pbase. It's great and I've never had any of the "problems" that I've read that other users have had while using this great service.
However I have to agree with wanting to "opt out" or "opt in" to the new way the favorite artist page is displayed.
Personally I prefer the old way.

I confused as to why anyone would want the old way. Maybe someone can explain.
This new way is the same, a chronologically sorted list of people with recent uploads, only it displays actual photos instead of just a list of text. Plus there are other features.
Why would you want the text only version?
Is this just resistance to change or is there something else I'm missing?

I love the new feature, but would like an easy way of adding/deleting people from it. In the past when I'd check our "Newest Members" I'd add them for easy finding. As time went on I had several that didn't add to their accounts. Today, before I could publish a list... I had to go to everyone's gallerie's and add them to a new one. Am I missing something on the edit page? In the future it shouldn't be a problem tho', becuse now I can add another list of 'new members' before moving them to my favorites. So I think it's going to work great! Thanks!!!!! I knew something good was in the works when things started moving slow.
