DaveT: hit counts are being collected. They'll start showing up on the stats page soon hopefully.

Were focused on solving the upload errors right now. This includes the Exif data since it's a related problem.
I think we'll be able to go back and reprocess the recent uploads, so it'll be sorted out as soon as possible.

I'm happy about the much faster site. Thanks for the upgrade!

I have customized many of my gallery pages with individual page headers, using the "description" space with HTML code. Many of these headers are corrupted. It seems that the original HTML code has been cut off after a certain number of characters. Will there be a fix for this problem? Very annoying for me, and lots of work, should I have to fix it on my own.

Best regards,

Martin

Martin,
Thanks for the heads up. We will take a look.
Most likely we'll be able to take care of it and you shouldn't need to do anything.

Upload error update: I believe we've isolated and stopped the upload errors from happening.
There are still problems with the Color Profiles and EXIF data, but we have a log of all recently uploaded images, so we'll go back and reprocess all of the images as soon as have the code ready.

We're aware of the problem that happens sometimes on the dashboard page.

I appreciate all of you who have taken the time to give feedback, since some of these errors are more difficult for us to spot than others.

Please help. My home page is not displaying properly

three fourths of the page is rolled off the top of the screen.

Please let me know if someone can take a look at this and get it fixed.

Thank you,

tim32225, (and everyone else with problems with their gallery appearance)
Sorry about that. We see the problem.
Some long gallery descriptions were truncated.
We're putting together a script to restore affected galleries. Hopefully you'll see results in around an hour or so.

But I am seeing that the daily hits display seems to have stopped with 08 February? (I did try clearing cache, just in case.)

Yes, I spotted that too. Thought I'd give it a few days to see if it catches up.

I see that your hardware update has been completed – much faster – thanks for that!

Problem – when uploading a new version of an image using the edit tool, I frequently get a page stating “Back to Gallery”
If I try a second or maybe a third time, I can get past that to a successful upload of the new version of the image, but when I click on the view button on the edit page, I then receive a white box containing “Creating Thumbnails”
I then need to refresh the page one or more times to get the image to display.

Thanks for the update to the new server. SO much faster and easier using the site. I have not encountered any problems yet, though I see some other people have found a few bugs, but that is always to be expected. Well worth working through a few glitches for the much better speed. I no longer have to sit and wait 3 minutes for a large gallery to fully open!

The long gallery descriptions that were truncated have now been fixed.

Barry McCartney, we will work on this uploading issue. Thank you for the details on what exactly you are trying to do and what you are experiencing. It is very helpful.

Exif extraction is now working on new uploads, and we will be going through recently-uploaded images and extracting the Exif data. We will let you know once that is complete.

This move makes a few major immediate changes.
* Completely new faster hardware.
* Completely new database software.
* All pages are now using https

More importantly, these changes will allow us to move forward again with improving the software.
We were stuck with a platform that made change very difficult without breaking anything, but now we'll be much more nimble.

First we'll have to iron out any wrinkles related to to this move. We'll be watching very closely for any bugs we missed during testing.
After that we will be focused on further performance and user interface improvements.
We want the site to be very fast and much easier to use.

We're very excited to finally get this done and moving forward again.
