you can now click on the flag in your profile page and go to a page that shows other photographers and galleries from that country.
also, the edit gallery page now has a popup menu for location.
if appropriate, you can choose a country for a gallery.

it's just a start. will evolve over the years with better navigation and more information.
also, there are not many galleries or photographers listed yet because this is very new.

I don't get how the example galleries are selected. Taking Hong Kong as an example, there are 114 photographers from Hng Kong, yet only 58 galleries in total are listed.
This implies that there are some photographers out there with NO galleries?

the galleries are galleries that have had their country set.
some people have set the country on their account, but not on any of their galleries.
this has been online for a few hours.
in a few months there will be more data and it should make more sense.

Is there no end to your talents ? Huge improvements Slug. Well done to you and your team. I know this is all very new, but how do non-members get to the data base? Such as would be buyers/viewers looking for snaps of certain countries?

added a couple of links to the search page to go to the world database to search by country, and the camera db to search by camera type.
someday wil overhaul the front page to provide a quick list of useful sections of the site.
btw, right now, the world database lists galleries from all users including trial accounts. most public sections (randoms,recent,popular, search) don't show trial accounts.
this will be true for the country database eventually, but right now it's new, so everything is listed so there's more to look at.
