Camera list not updating photos...

Kind of hard to explain, but here goes - In the camera list, new cameras have been added, but the photos taken with that camera have not been updating.

Specifically, the Canon T2i (aka EOS 550D) still shows the same 7 pictures it has for a month now. I've had my T2i since March and have many photos with it on PBase.

In the past this was not an automatic update to already uploaded photos, I expect users probably still need to do the update manually. Although several steps are required, galleries can be manually updated on a gallery basis without too much difficulty.

Scott, as far as I understand, and I might be wrong, the camera statistics are incremented 1) during the photo upload process, when a camera is identified in the EXIF and a match is found in the PBase camera database, or 2) when a user manually updates an image by selecting the camera from the Pbase pull down menu. I might be wrong on the second one, but I believe that's how it works. If a camera was just added to Pbase's database, I would expect the statistics to update as photogs uploaded photos and matches are found. Pbase has been behaving very strangely & sometimes seemingly randomly since the big melt down, this feature may not be working as intended. You could send an email to support@pbase.com, maybe they'll help with an answer.

My impression is that the camera statistics are updated by a periodic scan (or perhaps an aperiodic scan! )

I have posted stuff from fairly obscure little-used cameras where I can easily see if my additions have been found and even back when the other stats were actually working, it wasn't unusual to take three weeks for the new photos to show up in the camera database.

Given recent history, I'd say all bets are off.

For the camera I was interested in (the Canon T2i), the problem has now been fixed! I wrote to support and they said they'll look at it. Good job!
