Please can anyone advise how I can make my Header background an even Black colour and Not faded as per;

When you said "Header", did you eamn the background for the "Paul Keates Imagery" heading? If so, I see it as a black block even now, not faded. Your code contains a "background: rgb(0, 0, 0);" for "h2", which again confirms that is it indeed black.
