Using @font-face attribute

Post Fri Oct 31, 2003 9:10 pm

I ran across an artical about embedding fonts. Has anyone tried this using the @font-face attribute?

Can you just link the font, or do you have to use a tool like WEFT?

I tried just linking the font, but it didn't work:

I am trying to use a cursive font for the header. The test font "Cheap Pizza" was just to try a font that was not on my system.

Don't think any browser supports @font-face - http://webref.info/default.asp?ID=368

Opera does not - http://www.opera.com/docs/specs/css/

I used Microsoft WEFT to encode a font and used it here in the title:

I use IE6 mostly.

It worked on some of the characters, but others did not work, giving me the boxes instead of letters.

I read that the @font-face will work in IE and Netscape (PC Magazine October issue)

used both but as far as I know you have to be able to upload the encoded weft files to your server which can not be done within pbase...

I did read an artical about css3 that would take this to a next level but until then.. :(

I used a free server to host the weft file.
